Twin Portrait Photography~Sleeping Beauty & The Bear

You know, it's really hard to edit photos when you are laughing. Ladies and gentlemen...meet the two sweethearts that I had the pleasure of photographing this past Saturday. What faces! What fashionable headgear! What a fabulous way to spend a Saturday. I had such a good time with this brother and sister twin combo. Their parents were so laid back and funny that I actually felt like family at their house. These are just three of my favorites so far.  I can't wait to edit the rest! Here are some sneak peeks!

 

Tiny Newborn Visitor

Last week I tried out a home studio setup for the first time. Beautiful Baby L and her parents answered my call for models and were gracious enough to travel quite a distance to come visit me. My studio still needs quite a bit of tweaking, but overall I think we got some nice shots. Little Ms. L in no uncertain terms told me that she did NOT like the Japanese Lullaby CD I had ready for her, and she rated my beanbag only "so-so" in terms of chill-out worthy.  Luckily, she was happiest in her daddy's arms or cuddling with her mom which made for beautiful photos. :)

Longwood Gardens Photo Shoot

My fiance and I took a little trip to Longwood Gardens over the weekend. I had never been there before. How beautiful! I'm not an overzealous flower fan, but I really enjoyed myself. Here are some photos I took:

I Hate Myself for Loving John Mayer.

These past few weeks I've been loving me some John Mayer. I've been editing all of my jobs to Continuum and Battle Studies. His Cd's are full of great stuff. However, I'm conflicted about loving him for obvious reasons. He's a jerk. As a date, John Mayer is like that cute pair of high heels that you buy because you swear the pain will be worth it but an hour into wearing them you are ripping them off your pain riddled feet. John Mayer is like that cute puppy you can't resist petting until you scream with pain when it sinks it's little puppy fangs into your hand. I know.. I know, I haven't dated him, but still. His magazine interviews detailing private information about his dating life are interfering with my enjoyment of his music. I actually catch myself jamming along with his guitar while simultaneously picturing Jennifer Aniston drop kicking him in the teeth. That's not right. I think it's time to cruise i-tunes for some new editing music. Any input from you would be welcome, dear blog readers.

Home is Where The Dog Is.

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting three little lovable crazies; Two puggles and a baby beagle. Adorable doesn't even begin to describe these little loves. They certainly had me on the run trying to photograph them, that's for sure. Did they stop and pose when they heard my clicker? Nope. Did they stop and pose for a treat or two? Barely. It was ignore the photographer day at their house! Nonetheless, I think we got some cute shots. It's hard to go wrong with faces that cute. Thanks so much to their owner for asking me to come shoot some photos of her babies. Home is indeed where the dog is. :)

Bella Balerina (A.K.A. "Belle")~A Bullie Looking for LOVE!

Hey everyone,
Ok, so this is not a photo post, per se. It's the story of a wonderful dog named Belle. I call her Bella Ballerina, because after all of the neglect she has endured, she walks with an unusual gait. I don't know why, but she reminds me of a bulldog-ballerina. Right now Bella is in the care of the wonderful people of Heaven Sent Bulldog Rescue. She was rescued after being severely neglected. She was so severely neglected, that she couldn't walk when she came into rescue. Right now she is not only walking, but floats around..chasing things, sniffing this...sniffing that. She loves to be outside. She's great with people, but not so great with other dogs. Don't let that scare you... she's just a doll who would bring a lot of happiness to the right family.

Please spread the word and help Ms. Belle find a home that deserves her, with a family who will give her the love and attention she deserves. Animals are so forgiving and resilient. Belle is a four legged example of the triumph of spirit over adversity. Let's help her get to where she needs to go. Her info can be found here
